Endometriosis Treatment

Endometriosis Treatment

Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It commonly affects the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and pelvic lining, causing pain, inflammation, and sometimes fertility problems. Women experiencing symptoms should seek evaluation from an experienced specialist such as Dr. Anjali Jain.

Symptoms of Endometriosis

Common symptoms include:

  • Chronic pelvic pain

  • Severe menstrual cramps

  • Pain during intercourse

  • Heavy or irregular periods

  • Difficulty conceiving

  • Fatigue or bloating

Causes & Risk Factors

Possible causes include hormonal imbalance, retrograde menstruation, immune system disorders, and genetic factors. Early menstruation, short menstrual cycles, and delayed pregnancy may increase the risk.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis may involve a pelvic examination, ultrasound or MRI scans, and laparoscopy, which is considered the most reliable method to confirm endometriosis.

Treatment Options

Treatment depends on the severity of symptoms and may include:

  • Pain relief medications

  • Hormonal therapy

  • Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery

  • Lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet, exercise, and stress management

Early diagnosis and proper treatment can significantly improve quality of life. Women with persistent pelvic pain or irregular periods should consult a specialist for timely care.
